New Zealand
Sorry, I've been down here racing a few weeks now. I started racing the day after I arrived and haven't had much time off until this week. Now that things have slowed down a bit I'll get the sit updated over the next couple of days. We'll be racing in the New Zealand Grand Prix this weekend at Auckland, and then next weekend I'll be running both the sprint car and a New Zealand stock car at Palmerston North. After that we head down to the south island for a couple of weeks.
Hope your holidays went well!

going racing
The doctor cleared me to go back to racing starting this weekend. We'll be going to Jacksonville, IL Friday and Farmington, MO on Sat.
Hope to see you there!

Wheatland, MO
The evening started off as usual for us at the draw table pulling a number that placed us last row inside of the 6th heat race. Fortunately though the track was slicker than most tracks the ASCS has raced on this summer which allowed for some passing in the heat races. The new car was off just a little but Madsen still managed to work his way up to a 4th place finish which put us 2nd row of a "B" main. After a few changes to the car, Kerry was able to win the "B" with and aggressive last lap pass. The feature saw us starting from the 9th row and Kerry did exactly why he was hired to drive the car, he lived up to his nick name, "The Mad Man", and sliced and diced his way up to a 6th place finish. Along the way he ruffled a few feathers and was greeted after the race by a flying water bottle from an opposing team member, but I though he did an excellent job. I'll find out Tuesday if I get released from the Dr.'s care this week so I can get back behind the wheel this weekend. If not, there's a good chance Kerry will fill in at a couple more races.
Thanks,
Ricky

substitue driver
I've received several emails with guesses about our driver this weekend at Wheatland, MO. The majority of the guesses were correct; it's going to be Kerry Madsen. I go back to the Dr. Tuesday for another X-ray, so hopefully I'll be released to drive myself next weekend. If that's the case we'll be heading to Jacksonville, IL on Friday then down to Farmington, MO on Sat. for the Queen's Royal.
Thanks,
Ricky

Update
Sorry again, it's been a while since I've had time to let everyone know what's going on. We crashed at an IRA race in WI a few weeks ago and broke my knee cap. It split long ways right down the middle. No surgery was required, but the Dr's say it will be around 6 weeks if things go well before it heals. It's already been 3 long weeks and I'm itching to get back behind the wheel. Lucas has an ASCS event next weekend, sept. 26th, at their own track in Wheatland, MO. We're going to have the car there to support them, but I won't be driving. The sub I've hired should be a contender right out of the trailer though. He has won a few WOO races and is a threat to win on any given night. I'll let you guys do some guessing and I'll spill the beans when we get closer to next weekend.
Thanks,
Ricky
