Ricky was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. He has lived from Pennsylvania to Colorado.

Ricky has raced many different styles of race cars. He has raced Go-Karts, Mini Sprints, Midgets, Sprint Cars, USAC Silver Bullets, Late Models, NASCAR Winston West, NASCAR Craftsmen Truck, and ARCA stock cars.

* Won the IRA Outlaw Tour race at Cresco, IA in 2002 & 2003
